Ericsson 5G Low Latency Next Wave In India and UAE
Ericsson is a technology giant based in Sweden. They are one of the foremost manufacturers of mobile telephones. Ericsson mobile gadgets used to sell like hot cakes when the wireless phone system, pagers, and mobile phones hit the communication industry. Due to high competition and technological advancement by competitors, Ericsson was not in limelight for a few years. Later, they have merged with Nokia of Finland and started re-launching mobile phones. The quality of phones is very good, the brand name is good, still, there was something lacking – the merger could not bring the required growth in business.
But Ericsson kept on improving and innovating. In the Dubai Expo pavilion, they have launched a revolutionary next wave of 5G technology that has low latency.
The importance of low latency is mainly in the field of driverless transporting systems, medical devices, and virtual reality entertainment and information fields. These areas require a lag-free communication system.
Ericsson 5G
The new Ericsson next wave has a low latency specification of 50 ms to 1 ms end-to-end at specified guarantee levels of 99.9 percent to 99.999 percent. This is one of the fastest communication waves on earth. It is very much helpful and a requirement of applications of the Internet of Things (IoT). All robotic functions require a latency-free communication system to perform error-free and seamless.
The network required for mobile broadband connectivity is different from critical IoT-related applications with 5G. In broadband, a data rate increase is happening – but latency is not very much measured or becomes an issue. But in time-critical communications like vehicles and robots, latency matters a lot. Reliability is a must. Certain applications would demand a specific speed and latency reduction for desired output. On a road, decisions need to be taken within no time. Requirement of latency may be demanded like data delivery speed of 40ms with 99.99 percent reliability or so.
In UAE, the Ericsson IoT-based data speed will be launched in the first quarter of 2022. Etisalat and Du are the mobile communication providers of the country. Ericsson Private 5G will launch its next wave by the third quarter of 2022.
In India, Vodafone Idea is the communication partner of Ericsson. Almost the same time as the UAE launch, India too will have the Ericsson Private 5G.
